Dr. Petri S. Juuti, born in Ruokolahti, Finland, June 12, 1966, is an Assistant Professor
of History at the University of Tampere in Finland. His major area of interest is environmental
history, especially urban environment, city-service development, water supply and sanitation, urban
technology, pollution, and public policy. He is the author of several books.
