Entering Petra: One must enter the ancient Nabatean city of Petra through a narrow canyon called the Bab a-Siq. The first visible structure inside the city is the "Treasury", though the Nabateans did not use it as a treasury. It was given this title in the early 1800s by the first European to see the ruins.
